Jeff Brown

A.J. Brown is a southern-born writer who tells emotionally charged, character driven stories that often delve into the darker parts of the human psyche. Most of his stories have the southern country feel of his childhood. A.J. draws inspiration from every day events and conversations. The characters of his stories are drawn from people he has met or seen during his life. Some of the best stories are inspired by his two children. Though he writes mostly darker stories, he does so without unnecessary gore, coarse language, or sex. A.J. is also a husband to Cate and a father to two kids, who often inspire him in the most interesting ways. More than 150 of his stories have been published in various online and print publications. His story Mother Weeps was nominated for a Pushcart Award in 2010. Another story, Picket Fences, was the editor’s choice story for Necrotic Tissue in October of 2010. The story, Numbers, won the quarterly contest at WilyWriters.com in June of 2013. A.J. is the author of 7 short story collections, two novels and one novella, If you would like to learn more about A.J. you can check out his blog, Type AJ Negative. Jae Mazer

Jae Mazer is a Canadian who was born in Victoria, British Columbia, and grew up in the prairies of Northern Alberta. Donelle Whiting

Donelle Pardee Whiting’s love of the written word led her from working as a journalist to writing and editing fiction. Her combined experience as a writer and editor allowed Donelle to work, or should we say edit, her way to Editor in Chief as Stitched Smile Publications. Hers are the last eyes to see a work before it is formatted for release, which these days makes for a lot of words.
Along with editing, Donelle is one of SSP’s published authors, and has several writing projects of her own in various stages of progress. She is the co-author of Strigoi: The First Family and Strychnine. She is also the author of Alliance Betrayed in the anthology Unleashed: Monsters vs Zombies, Vol. I and has a story called Trees in 100 Word Horrors: An Anthology of Horror Drabbles.
Donelle lives in Illinois with her retired Navy husband Christian, her two furbabies—Polly, a Whippet/Pit/Lab mix that protects her from the evil mail carrier, and Clara the Wonder Husky. In whatever spare time is left, Donelle enjoys spending time with family—her son (an active duty submariner), her daughter-in-law, five granlittles, two granpuppies, two grancats, and several granchickens and granducks. She never turns down a trip abroad with her mom, traveling to places like China, Peru, Alaska, South Africa, river cruises on the Danube River in the Balkans, the Rhine and Main Rivers in Europe, and the Douro River in Portugal.
There is of course her love of riding on the back of her husband’s Harley, photography, a good cup of coffee, chocolate, and cookies.

By her “Darque Design,” Lisa Vasquez creates vivid, twisted horror with the precision of a scalpel, and cuts into the reader’s psyche with “fleshed out” characters. In her most recent release, THE UNFLESHED: TALE OF THE AUTOPSIC BRIDE, the main character, Angus Wulfe, gains notoriety for being as vile and twisted as the iconic Dr. Hannibal. Lisa’s writing style has been compared to the works of Mary Shelley, Baz Luhrman, and the Grand Guignol (John Palisano, Bram Stoker-winning author of NERVES), and is being hailed as, “A writer of nightmarish vision and a new, poetic voice in today’s horror genre” (Peter Molnar, author of THE CLOCKWORK LAZARUS).

Lisa is the CEO of Stitched Smile Publications, the owner of Darque Halo Designs, the Publisher’s Liaison for the Horror Writers Association, and also volunteers as a mentor to other authors.

You can read Lisa’s work in the following collections: HYDROPHOBIA: CHARITY ANTHOLOGY FOR HOUSTON (victims of Hurricane Harvey), ATZ: THE GATHERING HORDE, and in Kevin J. Kennedy’s COLLECTED HORROR SHORTS (Christmas, and Easter editions).
